School is starting soon

We had Open House at school last night. I am happy with the boys' teacher placements. I think Chad got the best possible 3rd grade teacher for him. None of Carter's friends are in his class, but he started out 1st grade the same way and made many new friends, so he'll be fine. He didn't get the teacher I requested, but both the main teacher and the paraprofessional seem really nice. I think they're both going to have great years!

Poem Of The Day

People - written in June 1988, when I was 14 years old

Why were they put down here below
On this great Earth where the deep waters flow?
They pollute and destroy the water and air.
Some try to help, but some just don't care.
You meet an old friend you haven't seen in a while.
You notice a change; there's no laughter, no smile.
You think, "What's the problem? What caused the change?"
Maybe it's the city, the way their life's rearranged.
Even you will be different years from now.
Everyone changes, although I don't know why or how.
Humans are strange, they love and they fight.
Something's wrong to one, and to others it's right.
There are many different colors and many different races,
But to really see a person, you don't look at their faces.
You look at their character and the things they do to you.
And any other judging wasn't meant for you to do.
