Surgery

For those that don't know already, I had surgery yesterday. It's called UPPP. They took my tonsils, part of my uvula and soft pallete, and did something to the base of my tongue to draw it up some. This is all in the hopes of solving my obstructive sleep apnea. I was supposed to be in the OR at 12:30 yesterday afternoon, but didn't get taken back until 4:00 and then sat in a bed in the hallway until about 5:30. LOL THis was after having fasted since midnight Sunday night. UGH But the surgery went well, and I have to say that anesthesia is pretty awesome. I didn't feel a thing, didn't know a thing, it was great. Of course, I was in pain when I woke up, but answering "8" on the pain scale twice got me some good drugs and it was better after that. They didn't keep me overnight, so I got home around 10:30 PM, after picking the kids up from Angel, who had earlier picked the kids up from a friend's house. Thank you, Angel and Allison for taking care of them for me!

So today I'm not feeling too bad, as long as I don't talk or swallow. And swallowing sucks because sometimes it wants to go down the wrong way, yet I'm not supposed to cough. NOT a good feeling. I'm taking my percoset like clockwork though, just to stay ahead of the pain. I'm also on an antibiotic of course. Charles is taking VERY good care of me. Gotta love him.
